EASA CLASS 2 Medical
If you are training for or hold a Private Pilot’s Licence in the UK, you require a valid medical certificate. At Manchester Medicals, we can provide the medical assessment required by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Whether you are looking for an initial Class 2 Medical or are looking for a renewal or revalidation, we have you covered. Visit Manchester Medicals today for professional and convenient Class 2 medicals.

The Examiner
Your Class 2 medical will be performed by Dr Chris Lydiatt, a UK CAA approved Aeromedical Examiner (AME). Having been through the process himself, he understands the importance of having a valid medical to maintain your licence, and aims to make the process as straightforward as possible.

What to Bring?
If you wear prescription glasses, be sure to bring them along with your opticians’ recent examination report. You will be required to provide a urine sample, so be sure to arrive at the clinic with a full bladder. If there’s anything else that you need to obtain, we will inform you in advance so you can come prepared.

The Test
Your medical typically takes one hour, and includes an examination of your medical history, a full physical examination, vision and hearing tests, a urine test, and sometimes an ECG or other tests (depending on your age and medical history).

The Certificate
After a successful medical, you will be issued with your certificate on the day. If there are any issues, you’ll be guided through the process of arranging any other tests or assessments that may be required.
Your medical is valid for 5 years if you are under the age 40, 2 years if you are 40-50, and 1 year for those who are aged above 50.
