How Can You Get Your Pilot Medical?

Getting a pilot medical is simple, you will first need to find and book in for an initial medical examination. You need to find a registered aerodynamic centre that can carry out the exam lawfully.

Manchester Medicals is fully licensed to carry out pilot medicals, so when you choose us, you know you are in safe hands.

You will have fully blood and urine tests taken at the time, so it is best to be prepared.

How Long Does It Take?

The pilot medical examination tends to take anywhere up to four hours4. This is due to the thoroughness of the examination and the various testing that takes place such as blood, urine and reflex tests.

If the examiner is not entirely satisfied within the time, you can expect to be examined further for an indefinite amount of time at another occasion.

Manchester Medicals is your trusted supplier of pilot medicals, we understand that the process can be long an inconvenient and so we aim to have clients seen as quickly as possible to minimise waiting times.

How Old Do You Need to Be?

To have pilot medicals, you need to be at 21 years old. If you are not yet of the age, then you can apply for a Multi Crew Pilot License.

Can You Pass a Medical if You Wear Glasses?

In the past, a common misconception has stopped many from pursuing a career as a commercial pilot. The belief that you need to have 20/20 vision in order to be a pilot is a myth.

If you can wear contact lenses and correct your vision to 20/20 then you are fine to become a pilot.
