What is the Cabin Crew Medical?

As of April 2014, all cabin crew now are required to undergo a full medical examination once becoming a member of the cabin crew.

Should the member turn 50 they will be required to be examined again and the certification is usually valid for five years after its appointment.

Passing this examination is a legal requirement to be a member of cabin crew, not passing it and operating as cabin crew can be a criminal offence.

What Will You Need for Your Cabin Crew Medical?

For your cabin crew medicals, you will need to bring the following:

  • A valid and in date passport
  • One passport sized photograph
  • Patient summary from your GP
  • A medical consent form
  • Your glass if you wear them and an up to date prescription

Your cabin crew medicals has to be done by a registered doctor. As long as it is from a registered doctor, it does not matter who performs the medical examination.
